Exploring: North Lake Tahoe

Nothing inspires us quite like traveling. We are excited to share a new series where we ask some of our favorite creative women to share their take on a place that brings them inspiration. Lifestyle blogger Ashley Kane recently spent a week up in Lake Tahoe and brought her favorite Kayu piece to elevate her casual lakeside looks. These views? Oh, long live summer!

North Lake Tahoe

What to pack…
Your casual best. Cut off denim shorts, favorite cotton tops, a straw beach bag (hello, piñata tote!), a couple of dresses/rompers for dinners, a swimsuit, and you’re good to go! Less is more. Especially when heading to Tahoe where flip flops at lakeside dinners are encouraged!

Roadtrip time SF —>Incline Village
3 hours and 20 minutes if you’re lucky (the trick is to leave on a Thursday and drive back on a Saturday!)

When you’re in North Lake Tahoe you should stay…
At The Hyatt! It’s right on the water and is beautiful. It also has a delicious restaurant called Lone Eagle Grille (order the balsamic chicken pizza, you’re welcome!), that has become a tradition each time we visit. The little cabanas lining the water make for the perfect place to rest your head on a warm summer day.

Must do activity…
Driving up to the Stateline Fire Lookout, one of the best views in Tahoe. Morning sunrise with coffee at Kings Beach and evening sunsets lakeside are magical.

The highlight of spending time in Tahoe…
The air is the freshest air I’ve experienced, the views are incredible, and the color of that lake really does take my breath away. I love the laidback lifestyle and the relaxation that takes over upon arrival.
