The Jen

Materials

Our Jen clutch is woven out of Buntal which comes from the leaves of the Buri palm. It is the largest and most common palm found in the Philippines and its leaves can grow up to five meters long. The leaves are harvested by hand, dried in the sun and then sorted according to size. They are then dyed and woven by hand into mats using basket weaving techniques that have been used for thousands of years. The clasp on our Jen clutch is made from real stone and cast by hand in brass.
