Exploring: Carmel

Shop our Hurricane clutch

Hello! Our #travelwithkayu series is back and this time we’re headed to Carmel, California for a cozy weekend away with travel writer, Dulci Edge of The Far & Near.

Where to stay

L’Auberge Carmel is a luxe Relais & Chateaux property with an unbeatable in-town location walking distance from shops and restaurants. The courtyard is the perfect spot for afternoon cocktails.

Outside of town, Bernardus Lodge & Spa is a splurge, but worth it for a weekend of pampering. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and the spa is top notch.

Where to eat

La Bicyclette is a favorite for crisp wood-fired pizzas. Don’t miss brunch; the eggs are baked in a wood oven and absolutely delicious!

Casanova is my favorite for a romantic dinner. Get the gnocchi!

Seventh & Dolores is a modern steak house in an airy, loft-like space.

What to do

There are plenty of tasting rooms sprinkled throughout Carmel: some of my favorites are Scheid Vineyards and De Tierra.

Book a spa treatment at Bernardus or Carmel Valley Ranch.

Check out the famed aquarium in nearby Monterey.
