Here’s a peek at what Jamie (our founder) is loving this month.

1. Fresh Figs
One of the things I like most about living in California is the abundance of fresh fruits we have all year round. In the summer months I love digging into a bowl of greek yoghurt topped with over-ripe figs drizzled with honey. Long days also call out for this orange and fig cake by Daniel Boulud which is delicious and so pretty to look at.
2. Boonville
The coronavirus has made my family and I explore parts of California we wouldn’t usually visit. I love the tiny town of Boonville which is located only two hours from San Francisco and which boosts a burgeoning food and wine scene. Spend the day at PennyRoyal Farm for wine tastings and farm tours (note: tours are currently on hold due to Covid), and the evening at The Boonville hotel restaurant which boasts insanely fresh food straight from their garden. It’s a laidback alternative to always crowded Napa and Sonoma.
3. Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche
I have been reading and rereading everything by Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche. From Americanah to A Feminist Manifesto In Fifteen Suggestions everything she writes is smart, funny and relevant now more than ever.
4. Basket Weaving
There’s something very therapeutic about weaving a basket. Plus they are endlessly useful and make great gifts. Baskets by Mona on Etsy has a great collection of DIY kits for the beginner to the more experienced weaver.
5. Supergoop! Sunscreen
I’ve been using this sunscreen everyday. It goes on smooth and isn’t tacky like other sunscreens, plus it’s got a great sheen to it so you can have that sun kissed glow everywhere you go.
6. Paintings by Mari Quinonero
I’m obsessed with the work of Spanish fine artist Mari Quinonero.
7. Our Paros Sandal
I’ve been wearing our Paros sandal everywhere. It’s super comfortable and complements any outfit.
